With the Lotus temporarily freed from the grasp of the Indifference, the long-awaited path to Tau can finally be found. Chart a course beyond anything you've ever known to the wilds of a new binary star system, where Warframe's cinematic narrative will continue to evolve and offer many remarkable experiences to come. Welcome to Tau, Tenno.
Though ages have passed since the Old War, corruption has rendered the orbital ring-city of Fornax into a wretched mockery of its former splendor — blighted by crime, sickness and treachery. As you'll discover upon arriving, the past here is more than just history: it's a neverending threat to the present, where danger lurks around every corner. You would be wise to stay on your toes.
Step into the Bloom-soaked decay of Fornax, a lawless ring city densely populated with all manner of degenerates and drenched in unending waves of madness-inducing black rain. Between the addicts in its slums and the thugs working its docks, reaching the casino at the heart of this urban hellscape requires quick wits and an even quicker trigger finger.
The enforcers, hired hands and knucklebusters standing in your way comprise a new faction of Sentient enemies who have evolved far and away from the familiar foes of the Origin System. Though you're more than equipped to take them out, don't get too cocky, especially when the black rain begins to fall…
Control over the many rackets in Fornax rests with the Hunra, a brutal kingpin at the center of the Sentient underbelly who enthusiastically dispenses violence, fear and Bloom to maintain his seat at the head of the table. To reach him, you'll need to overcome his legions of loyalists, any of whom would happily dispatch you to curry favor with the Boss, who seems as untouchable as he is implacable.
Fortune rarely smiles in Fornax, but when it does, the gamblers hunched at the casino's Portau tables earn the closest thing here to an honest living. Warframe's first original card game is built on unique suits of Blooms, Cores, Moons and Suns, and offers some welcome excitement amidst the hustle and heartbreak of Tau. Why not test your luck and play a few hands for yourself?
The ring city of Fornax is but the first of many destinations to come as future updates unfold, with ambitious expansions planned across Warframe's new Star Chart alongside the continued evolution of the Origin System. Many celestial bodies orbit Tau's twin suns, where new friends, foes, adventures, and possibilities remain undiscovered. In the meantime, taking care of matters on Fornax will allow you to return to a familiar moon you may (or may not) remember…
Although Perita thrived following the events of The Old Peace, its ecosystem has since collapsed into a hostile, sandstorm-ridden desert populated by feuding clans of Dazannah — and where both resources and allies are notoriously difficult to come by. With the last unconquered clan facing existential peril, its chieftain’s young son, Catulast, seeks help from its ancient foe, the Tenno. Will you brave the wasteland and answer its call?
