Warframe Chat Guidelines

Some of you are already familiar with our chat rules, as shown in-game:

• Be Respectful.
• No Profanity.
• No Spamming.
• Only Recruit in the “Recruiting” Channel.

Chat is an integral part of the Warframe experience, and let’s face it, there are hundreds of thousands of chat lines entered each and every day, and we do our best to keep that chat safe and civil by removing offensive content. We have the right (in the context of our rules) to remove, kick, or ban users for violations of the following Guidelines. The expectations outlined below work in tandem with the EULA and TOS. The Guidelines extend to in-game activity and any other official Warframe platform.

Chat Guidelines In Detail

RESPECT

Let’s respect each other and have fun. Respecting people means not insulting anyone’s race, religion, sexual orientation, skill-level, platform preference, or any other possible way to make someone feel uncomfortable in the Warframe community.

BULLYING

Warframe is an inclusive game, and players with disabilities, handicaps, language barriers, etc should not be treated any differently. There is zero tolerance for bullying in our chat. Picking on, or pointing out, others’ flaws are anything but constructive.

DEVELOPER BASHING

Let’s face it, we aren’t perfect, we know this – we’re humans making a game. We work hard and listen to feedback with earnest care, so any insults will be cleaned up on the spot and not tolerated. Constructive feedback is encouraged and is key to us improving the game.

For clarification:

• What is an insult? “This Warframe is trash, whoever came up with it should be fired.”

• What is constructive feedback? Constructive feedback, whether positive or negative, is about detailing what the situation is, and use details/personal experiences to explain your reasoning as well as include ways to improve it, in your own words.

ZERO-TOLERANCE POLICY ON HATE SPEECH

Racism, bigotry, and other forms of hate speech are completely unacceptable ways to conduct yourself in any space, and certainly not in Warframe. If you are found typing slurs, hate-speak, or any form of hate speech, (including self-censored, masked, rearranged versions of these terms, or “memes” containing slurs) your account will not only have your chat privileges revoked, but your access to the game will also be removed.

For our policy on what determines hate-speech, please follow this link to our support page on the subject.

PROFANITY

Keep it clean people! Excessive amounts of swearing and/or vulgarity, even if censored, will not be tolerated. You may find your comments purged, or your account actioned on if you incessantly swear, or use profanity to attack another player.

QUALITY STANDARDS

Use of our chat to talk to us and talk to each other in a constructive and respectful way that encourages interaction and thoughtful discussion. Stay on-topic, be constructive, and respect your fellow Tenno. Don’t rage/rant in chat, name-and-shame, send spam, advertisements, unreleased Design Council information, pornography, or any other inappropriate, offensive, or derogatory content. Such chat lines may be removed, or you may receive a temporary kick - or a longer-term ban - for using chat in such a way.

PRIVACY

Do not publicly post any form of real-life information of yourself or another user on the forums. Real-life information includes name, phone number, address, email address, private/email message content, personal pictures, IP address, and anything else that may identify you or a user to the community in some way. Posting potentially identifying information of another user in an attempt to “dox” them will result in immediate punitive action.

APPEALS

Moderation is a very contextual process and sometimes actions need to be reviewed. If you need to appeal an action taken on you, please open a ticket at http://support.warframe.com and your case will be addressed. Please allow some time for support to contact you back while your action is reviewed.
