While not a necessary step in proceeding with Whispers in the Walls and its contiguous storyline, Jade Shadows is an important cinematic Quest that shines a light on a very important figure in the Origin System: the Stalker. Completing Jade Shadows is also a necessary requirement to beginning the Jade Shadows: Constellations Quest that serves as a direct continuation of this storyline.
Note that this guide intentionally attempts to minimize spoilers, but some context and mechanical spoilers will be unavoidable. Proceed with caution!
For the first stage of this Quest, simply follow the objective markers (initially indicated by glowing green feathers). You'll eventually discover some important insights into the Stalker's past, before being directed to board his ship.
Let's familiarize you with the Stalker's abilities!
- Teleport: Will send you toward an enemy target and perform a Finisher attack.
- Marked: Will stun an enemy. If you kill them, the marked target will deal damage in a radius around them.
- Smoke Screen: Stuns enemies in an area, while also making the Stalker invisible.
- Punishment: Allows the Stalker to absorb and redirect damage back at enemies.
The Stalker is also a master of stealth, and enjoys a massive boost to Critical Hit damage against enemies that have yet to spot him!
This next stage plays out similar to a Corpus Spy Mission. To complete this Mission, you must successfully hack at least three of the four marked vaults in the area before extracting.
The Stalker can automatically hack all terminals, so this should be a piece of cake!
For this next Mission, you need to first deliver the Bioplasma to its intended recipient. Follow the markers and interact with the patient to inject the necessary medicine.
Afterwards, you'll be interrupted by more Corpus. All of the Stalker's weapons and abilities are unchanged from the previous Mission, so use them to dispatch your foes however you so choose. When you do, you'll once again be directed to your ship for the next phase of this Quest.
This next Mission will send you somewhere very familiar: your own Orbiter. Stealth is once again key as you avoid Ordis, who is floating around the ship with a sweeping arc of detection.
Your actual objective here is to enter the Transference room at the far back of the ship. The catch is that the door will not open for the Stalker. Instead, you need to evade the Cephalon's orange light while waiting for him to approach the door leading to the room. Once Ordis is close enough, the door will slide open, and you can slip behind him to enter for the next cutscene.
Your next Mission is decidedly more violent, but also quite simple. The Stalker is sent to a derelict ship and tasked with taking down a Juggernaut Behemoth. This Infested boss is quite hearty, but far from immune to your attacks. Dispatch it and extract when ready to enter the next phase of the Quest.
This Mission starts by once again interacting with the Stalker's patient. Once you administer their latest medicine, you will be prompted to engage with a rhythm game. The objective is to press the proper button as your marker moves over the indicated dots on the sine wave pattern moving across the screen.
Once the rhythm section and its corresponding cutscenes conclude, the Stalker will be tasked with battling his way to the surface of the planet. You won't have access to your usual suite of weapons and abilities this time. Instead, the Stalker's scythe has been supercharged with the destructive power of the Jade Light. While the blade is a melee weapon, its strikes will also fire a disintegrating wave of green energy in an arc before him.
This overcharged version of the Stalker is completely unstoppable — the Jade Light is a devastating attack and you will be invincible during this sequence — so you can take your time fighting your way to the elevator that leads to the surface.
You will eventually be bombarded with a massive Corpus assault weapon. All you need to do during this section is walk forward. Another cutscene will play and you'll be given a choice to make.
Appropriately enough for the Stalker, this action will have consequences for the quest Jade Shadows: Constellations, but don't let that deter you. Pick whatever feels right to you.
Completion of Jade Shadows unlocks access to Jade Shadows: Constellations. While neither of these is a requirement for any other Main Story Quest in Warframe, this sequel Quest continues the story of the Stalker. You can complete that now to learn more!
