Getting Started
Getting Started With TennoGen
Have you ever wanted to see your designs in Warframe? Do you have the technical skill and know-how to make textures? TennoGen Steam Workshop is how to do just that!
TennoGen Steam Workshop is Warframe content created by Tenno, for Tenno. Submit your designs and you could see them for sale inside Warframe! TennoGen artists will receive 30% of the Steam sale of their items that are accepted via the program and implemented in-game.
We recommend that artists already have a considerable amount of experience with texturing and various software before submitting to the TennoGen Steam Workshop. All skins will be reviewed by members of the Digital Extremes art department to see if they meet our internal standards. Accepted pieces get added to Warframe updates and are released throughout the year.
REQUIRED TOOLS:
To submit items to the TennoGen Steam Workshop, creators need to download the Warframe TennoGen Tool and Blender (including the TennoGen Blender Plugin). For more information on how to use these programs, we’ve outlined all of the details in their dedicated guides.

HOW ARE SUBMISSIONS CHOSEN?
Submissions are chosen by Digital Extremes based on quality and creativity. We will consider the popularity of skins as deemed by the Tenno, but we will be making the final decision on what is added to the game.
HOW MUCH WILL I MAKE?
If your skin is chosen, you will make 30% of each sale on PC. This 30% is a percentage of the cash transaction, not Platinum Currency. A curated selection of items is available on Consoles for Platinum, following the completion of a licensing agreement with the Artists — we will contact you privately with an All-Platforms License offer if your item is chosen for transfer.
WILL I GET FEEDBACK ON MY ITEM?
Feedback is offered to items or artists we feel may have potential for future acceptance. You are welcome to contact us for critiques, and we will offer feedback at the team’s discretion. Please understand due to workloads and the volume of submissions, we cannot provide highly detailed feedback for every submission.
We try to give as much feedback as we can to community artists, but we recommend reviewing our “Reasons for Rejection” guide for common issues we see with pieces: https://www.warframe.com/steamworkshop/some-reasons-for-rejection
WHY CAN’T I SUBMIT ANYTHING?
If you can't submit anything and you know you've set up everything correctly, it's possible you have a Limited User Account on Steam. To unlock certain community features, including submissions to the Steam Workshop, users must spend $5 USD in Steam.
