Warframe: Tau Coming December 2026!

What we showed at TennoCon 2026 was only the beginning, and there is much more to come.

Our Tau update will include a new cinematic Quest that is (tentatively) estimated to run 2-3 hours long! If you want to be able to dive right in when it launches, make sure you have already completed the Prologue to Tau Quest.

Our journey to Tau will unlock a brand new Star Chart for you to explore! There will be two playable zones: Fornax (which you saw in the TennoCon 2026 Gameplay Demo), and Perita (present-day, instead of the memories from the Dark Refractory).

Whether you explore the black rain-soaked Sentient metropolis of Fornax or venture into the wastelands of Perita, there will be lots to discover as we learn what has become of Tau. New mechanics, new Syndicates and more await you. You can listen to Design Director Pablo Alonso discuss upcoming combined damage types here.

Perita has changed considerably since the events of The Old Peace, and its hostile environment is now home to feuding clans of Dazannah. You'll meet the young Catulast, son of one such clan's chieftain, who is part of a new Syndicate known as The Cleaving Glaive. Complete Missions on Perita to learn its history and deepen your connection with them.

Catch a glimpse of one of Perita's new environmental hazards in this short preview from Creative Director Rebecca Ford. We are hoping to have approximately six missions on Perita for you to play at launch.

A Note on Prime Warframes:

Ten Prime Warframe sets will be permanently unvaulted and see their Relics added as Rewards earned on Perita. You can hear our rationale for this here. Stay tuned for more details about this to come!

Koumei Enshoujo

Fitting for Fornax, Koumei is getting a high-roller-themed Deluxe Skin! See her in a short Arsenal preview here. Accompanying her is the Fussami Armor Set (inspired by opulent jewelry), Malabou Syandana, and Narissen Polearm Skin. Want to dress her like a mob boss? It's your choice, we won’t stop you!

Brysko

Brysko is our 67th Warframe! He walks the rainy beat, wielding volleys of kinetic cards and his revolver, Corecracker, while his trusted Hound companion keeps him alert and helps tackle the criminal underworld of Fornax. He is a Chimera Warframe, which Rebecca discussed here.

With detective-themed Customizations like the Quarryhunter Helmet and Rainwalker Syandana, you can track down your enemies in style. See them for yourself in this Arsenal clip!

Abilities

**Please note that development is still ongoing for Brysko so what was shown during the Devstream is still subject to change.**

Passive:
When downed, take control of your faithful Hound for a limited time to collect Sentient core fragments and resurrect Brysko. See it in action here.

Ability 1:
Brysko throws Portau cards that embed in enemies or terrain and explode after a short delay, dealing Electric Damage and Status Effects.

Ability 2:
Brysko orders his Hound to lock down a wide target area, lifting enemies in range and slowly pulling them toward the Hound. Damage done to trapped enemies is shared among them periodically.

Ability 3:
Brysko fights to win, even if that means fighting dirty. Activating this Ability grants lifesteal for him and his Hound, plus a buff. However, this also causes Brysko to take damage over time. You may hold to remove the health drain.

Ability 4:
Brysko wields his exalted revolver, Corecracker. On kill, it spawns a “pseudo-core” that blasts nearby enemies with energy. Its alt-fire triggers a hammer-style attack that spreads shots in front of Brysko in a fan pattern. Preview it for yourself here.

The detective Warframe will come with his own Prex Card, but it may take some sleuthing to discover it!

Fornax

Fornax is a Sentient ring city that surrounds one of Tau’s celestial bodies, and features three interconnected Hubs. At TennoCon we showed you one such Hub, the Lastbloom Lounge. During Devstream 198 we revealed Manifold 90-BF, where you can chat with Sentients Vyathan, and Ikkilyst. Their significance to Fornax is yours to discover, but you can see a preview of them in this clip.

You have some options to get around in Fornax. Numerous grapple points are spread out to aid in traversal, but falling while you use them has dire consequences. Each Hub will have a built-in garage that you can use to access the highway which connects to the other two. You can watch a cheeky preview in this short tease.

Tau will also have its own version of Steel Path which will not feature Acolytes but rather some of the Hunra’s most fearsome underlings. More on this to come in our November Devstream!

Nezha Heirloom

In early 2027, Nezha will be receiving the Heirloom treatment. We’re excited to bring this fiery Warframe to you soon, created from designs by the talented Mati Tapia.
