On Devstream 187, we took a moment to relax, have fun and include you, our Tenno, a bit more in designing and destroying all things Warframe. We spoke about upcoming quality of life in our interim Cert build, new TennoGen and the Kullervo Deluxe Skin, and witnessed the chaos of Warframe unhinged.

Interim Build Quality Of Life
Our unnamed, upcoming Interim Build has quite the stash of quality of life. Here’s a look at all things incoming:
- The 1999 Demo is leaving!
- We’re implementing a catch-all Gemini Emote that’ll automatically use the corresponding Gemini transformation for the Gemini skin you have equipped!
- Archon Shard removal costs are being changed! Each Archon Shard color uses a different secretion, and normal shards now cost half as much to remove (Tauforged Shards staying the same).
- Arbitrations is receiving a pity store update! We’ve added the items that drop from Arbitration rotations directly to the Vendor, such as Arcanes, Mods and the Seeding Step Ephemera!
- The Arsenal is receiving Weapon and Warframe curated categories! We’re also adding improved search functionality. Alongside this is Mod Stat searching, meaning you can press a Weapon or Warframes stat to auto-search for Mods affecting the pressed stat.
- Minerva is getting an Auxiliary option for her Gemini skin—she can now wear her sunglasses.
- We revealed this earlier, but you’ll be able to swap Loadouts from the Temporal/Deep Archimedea Kaya/Necraloid screens.
- Dedicants, O Dedicants. Your reign of terror is over as we tone down their Health values by 30%.
Ivara’s Concentrated Arrow Augment is also receiving a full suite of changes:
- A fully charged arrow has increased Critical Chance.
- Critical Chance now applies to all Weak Point hits, not only just headshots.
- The AoE explosion now applies Status Effects.
- The AoE explosion now has an LoS check beyond 5 meters.
Romancing the Unromancable
The new Protoframes coming with Techrot Encore may not be romancable, but that doesn’t stop us from imagining a world where they might be!
Romancing Kaya
Romancing Minerva
Romancing... Flare with Lizzie?!
Galleon Of Ghouls
From May 2nd to May 19th, a new Tactical Alert will be introduced each weekend, tasking players with capturing treacherous Ghouls. You’ll only be armed with a self-damaging Ogris using the new but familiar Volatile Ogris skin (which, yes, you do get to keep!).
This is a small scope event of Weekend Alerts, with no Abilities, Operator/Drifter, swapping weapons, using Gear Wheel items or Companions. However, Warframe Mods and Arcanes still apply!
You’ll be able to acquire the Tak & Lug Grineer Sword and Shield, and the Tonkkatt Grineer Tonfas! Over the course of May, you’ll see the following Alerts pop up:
Weekend 1: Friday, May 2 at 11 a.m. ET - Monday, May 5 at 11 a.m. ET.
Weekend 2: Friday, May 9 at 11 a.m. ET - Monday, May 12 at 11 a.m. ET.
Weekend 3: Friday, May 16 at 11 a.m. ET - Monday, May 19 at 11 a.m. ET.
Building Caliban’s Razor Gyre Augment
We’re building an Augment for Caliban’s Razor Gyre! Caliban currently doesn’t have any Augments, and with his rework not too long ago (has it really been 6 months already?), what better time is there than now?
Disclaimer: the Augment we’re making is just a prototype! What’s shown is not exactly what will appear when we launch the Augment later.
To begin, we’re starting with an Augment for Caliban’s Razor Gyre, which reads as: “Now groups the enemies you hit. Ortholyst summons will launch coordinated strikes on grouped enemies."
To start, we took Inaros’ grouping ability, and began breaking it down to work with Caliban’s Razor Gyre. Cristiano then took us through the process of coding an Augment’s functionality into a Warframe’s ability (in this case, Caliban), and how goes into the technicality of what makes a Warframe a Warframe. (It’s coding canon, not lore canon!)
Once all was done, we ended with an Augment that draws enemies in with Razor Gyre, allowing spawned Ortholysts to automatically surround the enemies, fire faster and apply guaranteed Electric Status Effects!
Plus, we may have broken it a little bit. For fun!
As a reminder, this Augment is a prototype! What was shown isn’t what will appear in-game, as we’ll have to go through a lot of coding and balancing before it gets into your hands!
Breaking The Game
As part of Devstream 188’s shenanigans, we took to the code with our “Chaos Programmer" Cristiano!
- As our first attempt at breaking the game, we gave the Grineer some wacky face morphs. Who knew they could be so full of emotion?
- Next up, we went big-head mode, giving Dagath and the Grinner some giant, goofy heads!
- To satisfy the demands of one social media user, we put together two great weapons together: The Twin Hek!. But, it wouldn’t be complete without adding a little extra sauce: Twin Hek’s held by Geoff Crookes himself!
- We made enemies dance alongside us, making the Grinner bust a move in real time! Or, to take it one chilling step further, we made Dagath and her Kaithes can dance as well.
- Perhaps you wanted to be Venari yourself? Maybe Venari driving an Atomicycle, without a care in the world?
- Chat voted on negative Casting Speed for Nekros’ 4th Ability! He’s only a little bit slower, wouldn’t you agree?
- Instead of inflating the head, what if Loki was a tiny little guy?
- We also turned all the pick-up sounds to play “CLEM" instead! The Grakata also fires out “Grakata" sound effects. For good measure.
- Remember Lavo’s foam bricks? We added the foam bricks to Ember’s 1st ability, giving her a certain ‘performance-killing’ power. We decided to also turn the Ghoulsaw into the Atomicycle!
- More Nekros summons, now! We allowed Nekros to summon 100 summons from the dead, instead of his usual limit. Or, what if all the enemies were a totally, completely normal chair?
- We’ve also replaced Nihil, in his Glass prison, with our Creative Director, Rebecca Ford.
- We also handed Ordis a gun, at last. Is this still as Ordis? Or is this Ordan?
- For a final note, we revealed a new enemy! Look forward to Devstream 188 for more information on what this means...
To finish: Our survey results are in—69,483 responses! Here’s a look at what everyone said on the survey!
