We’ve deployed an iOS update that makes our new Thermal Throttling an optional setting, and contains some additional improvements. While we are calling this a hotfix, it is actually a small CERT update (learn more about what that means here).

Depending on your Automatic App Update preferences, you may need to manually update the app.

Changes

• Added “Allow Thermal Throtlling” toggle in the Video Options.
  • When enabled, if your device is heating up, frame rate and resolution will be lowered to help with heat reduction.
  • For context, in our March 24th hotfix, we introduced thermal throttling that applied to all devices by default. Based on player feedback regarding its impact on performance, we have added the option to enable / disable it.
  • By default, “Allow Thermal Throttling” will be disabled.
  • We will continue to monitor for feedback. Thank you, Tenno!
     
• Made minor visual optimizations to improve performance on lower end devices, including simplified hair, skin shading, reflections and sky lighting.

Fixes

• Fixed automatic block animations not triggering when using touch controls.
