Greetings Xbox One Tenno!
It’s with great pleasure (and much relief) to finally say that Warframe is live on Xbox One. Those new to being a space ninja will find that Warframe’s combat combines melee, shooting, and fast paced action in a way that can take a few missions to get used to; but once you get a hang of it, you’re in for some fun! In the tutorial you’re served up quite a few basics, but it’s really just the tip of the katana in what you can customize your Warframe to do in battle.
Knowing where to start can be difficult when you have so many options at your disposal. For those that are brand new to Warframe here are a few handy tricks to keep in mind as you start to experiment with Warframe’s unique gameplay:
Spin, Leap and Wall Attacks: You’ll notice each melee weapon not only has a stat for damage, but also for attacking enemies when doing aerial maneuvers. Using the melee button during a slide with some weapons has become known as coptering -- a deadly way to give yourself a burst of speed while making enemies standing nearby wish they didn’t have knees.
Silent Weapons Earn Stealth Kills: Although lacking the same outright firepower as shooting lightning or missiles, weapons like the Bow or Kunai are great for unseen takedowns. Anyone looking for precision damage that’ll keep you off the radar should definitely give it a try.
Elemental Attacks: Some of the deadliest attacks come from weapons with elemental properties, with each element being more effective against particular types of enemies. For example, fire is extra effective against the fleshy Infested while cold damage will drain Corpus shields faster.
Mixing Elements: Adding two elemental properties by attaching an elemental Mod to a weapon will create a whole new type of damage to your attacks! Be sure to experiment with damage types against various opponents, as elemental damage can dramatically change the effectiveness of your strikes.
Aura Mods: Unlike most Mod cards equipping an Aura will actually add Mod capacity to your Warframe instead of consuming it. Try to equip an Aura Mod to your Warframe (or Stance Mod to your melee weapon) as soon as possible to quickly start customizing your arsenal.
Use Fusion: Once you get a few Mods you’d like to rank up be sure to use fusion cores to rank up your Mod cards to make them more effective. If you’re out of fusion cores there’s always the option to fuse duplicates as well!
And finally, never be afraid to ask for help. Our Community Forums are a great way for any Tenno looking to learn about a Mod build, promote or find a Clan, or simply discuss your thoughts on the game with fellow players. There are also plenty of other resources to help in your struggle to fight the Grineer Empire, greedy Corpus, or spreading threat of Infested corruption.
Hope you enjoy your stay in our own little sector of Xbox One. Good luck, and happy hunting Tenno!
