Devstream 104 overview

If you’re hoping to avoid the screech of fire alarms and learn more about Warframe in the process? Oh boy, are you in luck! The first Devstream of 2018 was cut a little short by blaring sirens, but that has given us the opportunity to make as many fire/lit/Ember/Bursa jokes as we see fit!

Pick your favourite and keep on reading for burn-free highlights from this week’s stream. If you want to experience the full ride, be sure to watch this episode on our YouTube channel below.

Housekeeping:

  • There is a Twitch Drop being tested on all Platforms during the weekend! Watch any Warframe Partner for 30 minutes and earn yourself a Glyph Display.
  • As always, there is a 24 hour Gift of the Lotus Alert live on all platforms!
  • The Prime Vault will open on February 6. Ember Prime, Loki Prime and Frost Prime will be released for a limited time. Their relics will be available once more, or you can acquire them via their individual Vault packs or Ember Prime and Loki Prime combo back.
  • Next console update will hopefully release this month and will come with the Apostasy Prologue.

Rideable Dargyns

It’s time to put those Lakitu cloud-stealing skills to use! You will be able to ride your very own Dargyns on the Plains of Eidolon:

These will be grounded on the Plains and you can either use your ninja skills to steal them or clear out the grineer around them and take their ride. When you decide to exit, the Darygn will fall to the ground so you can re-board it if you choose. The footage above is still very work-in-progress!

Mesa Deluxe Skin

Here’s a look at a work-in-progress model of Mesa’s Deluxe Skin. With it comes musket-inspired pistols!

2-Handed Katana Animations

We revealed the coming two-handed Katana in a previous Devstream, but here’s some more animations to tease you all with:

TennoGen Round 11

The first batch of TennoGen Round 11 pieces will be released on PC sometime next week (the week of January 15). For those not in the know, with over 30 submissions accepted for this Round, we have split it into 3 and will drop them over the course of a month. The subsequent batches are currently planned to go out later this month and in early February.

These will also be coming to consoles at a later date.

For a look at what this round contains, you can check out our official thread here: https://forums.warframe.com/topic/886932-tennogen-round-11-accepted-submissions/

New Augments

Four new Warframe augments are coming for Titania, Harrow, Nidus, and Equinox. It appears that the world is not yet ready to learn about these yet, since the stream was cut short before this segment could be finished. These will be shown off in more detail at another time, but Reb managed to show off a bit of the Nidus Augment before our mandatory evacuation:

This Augment is for his Larva ability and will cause it to explode upon reactivation for AOE damage and guaranteed procs.

Khora and Damage 2.5

After posting our Dev Workshop about the Impact/Puncture/Slash changes and reading all of the excellent feedback you provided us on it, we are decoupling Khora from this system while we rethink its goals and objectives.

Khora will be redesigned slightly and released when possible. As for Damage 2.5, what we have planned is different from what we originally outlined in the workshop. Stay tuned for more details when we have them.

Plains of Eidolon Survey Results

At the end of last year, we launched a survey to learn about our community’s opinions about our largest update ever: The Plains of Eidolon! We’ve compiled responses to some of the bigger picture questions we asked of our Tenno. Look them over and see if you agree

Morality System

Those of you who have completed Warframe’s main quest line should be familiar with the morality system, and the lack of content relating to it following its inclusion into game. Steve spoke about it briefly and explained that we simply got distracted and haven’t implemented it as much as we would have liked. In its current form, we think that it can be improved to be more immediate (relating to the players in-the-moment experience) and have consequences.

Other tidbits:

  • Zephyr Deluxe is a passion project for someone, still being worked on in the background.
  • Equinox alt helmet is still being worked on and will be released some day, we promise!
  • We’re planning on doing a content audit (including abilities and weapons) and we’re thinking to include Zephyr in it.
  • Team is working on the next cinematic quest (first, hopefully) and the next Landscape (second). We’re feeling that the term “open world” will really apply to this next landscape as it is much larger in size, scope, and density.

The Remote Observer - Vol 19.5

We’re back again with highlights from the first 2 PC hotfixes of 2018! Take a look at what important changes came with the start of the year below:

PC - WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED

Boss Reward Location Changes:

In an effort to balance the acquisition of Warframes, we’ve shifted some boss drop locations:

  • Excalibur from Pluto to Mars - meaning Lieutenant Lech Kril now possess Excalibur parts
  • Frost from Mars to Ceres - meaning Lieutenant Lech Kril/Captain Vor now possess Frost parts
  • Trinity from Ceres to Pluto - meaning Ambulas now possess Trinity parts

Plains of Eidolon

  • Fixes towards squads getting separated when enroute to the Plains. This resulted in some players successfully loading into the Plains and some remaining stuck in the hallway perpetually loading.
  • Fixed not switching Cetus instances when accepting an invitation from another player in a different instance.
  • Fixed being left behind in Cetus if you joined a Host the moment they ran into the hallway and saw the loading spinner icon.
  • Fixed an issue where players who joined a session after the host returned to Cetus from the Plains could receive different rewards than the Host if they subsequently did Bounties together.
  • More than doubled the size of the Cetus Wisp pickup radius. This will allow you to obtain the Cetus Wisp from further away instead of needing to be right on top of it.
  • Plains of Eidolon Sorties are now a string of 3 encounters that must be completed in order to finish the mission.

UI and UX

  • Items claimed while in the foundry's "In Progress" tab will now stay in the tab until the tab is changed so you can choose to build it again right after.
  • Replaced the Jupiter-Saturn Junction requirement of ‘defeat the Raptor on Europa’ with ‘complete Baal on Europa’. This is due to the Raptor’s boss fight getting increasingly difficult after his re-work, which created frustration for newer players attempting to unlock the Junction.
  • When browsing Warframes/weapons to equip, you will now see the equipped Skin displayed on the Warframe/weapon icon instead of the default icon.: https://twitter.com/PabloPoon/status/951140250209935360
  • Fixed the 750 Daily Tribute rewarding you 3 Exilus Adapters instead of the intended 1.
  • You can now replay the Apostasy Prologue quest in your Codex!
  • Reduced the number of Codex scans required for the Ghoul Target, Rictus Alpha, Auger Alpha, and Expired Deserter to 3.

Quartakk Changes

  • Increased the size while wielded.
  • Added 0.5m Punch Through.
  • Added Ragdoll on Death.

In-Mission

  • You can now properly waypoint dropped weapon parts/Blueprints.
  • Reduced Vay Hek's zap Magnetic Status to not drain Energy completely.
  • Fixed Gara's Splinter Storm not dealing damage while invisible (Shade, Huras, Octavia etc).
  • Fixed Shred decreasing Vauban's armour instead of the enemies'.
  • Air Support Turrets spawned by the Host (as well as Turrets spawned by Clients prior to previous migrations) will now be destroyed when a Host migration occurs. This fixes Air Support Turrets lingering after a Host migration which resulted in being able to spawn more than 1 at a time.
  • Fixed Maim not damaging enemies if there are many enemies in its radius.
